Here there is a list of some of the ideas that during the Start Lab workshop a group of engineers suggested to us. The most promising ones based on the following criteria are number 2, 3 and 4. It would solve one of the biggest problems that our business idea has, which is to know exactly what the indented client likes. Because people like to surprise their loved ones with unexpected gifts, but at the same time, with gifts that they will like and use in the future, because in the end, that's the point of giving a gift to someone. 1. HOME SHARE: - Who has the problem: students who go to another country for an exchange. - How have they tried to solve it? They have tried to solve it by residences, apps to find a room in a house, or by renting a flat by themselves. The problem is that the students go to other countries to do an exchange but they don't know anyone there. So they have to spend more money by having to rent a flat by themselves, a residence, or they rent a little room with someone that is not their age so that it's cheap. - Why haven't this solutions worked? because you don't have the experience of leaving together in a cheap way with people from your age that you choose. 2. 1. Public transport card Who has the problem? People who usually use public transport to move arround Barcelona and surroundings How have they tried to solve it? Actually there are countries which use plastic cards instead of paper cards for any public transport. This system consists on recharging the card with money every time that it is empty. Why haven't these solutions worked? One of the biggest challenges of implementing this system in Barcelona it is the huge investment that it requires. 1. Biological food expensive A) Who has the problem? People who want to eat biological food and do not have enough money to buy it or the amount of money that they want to spend in food is not that high. B) What else you/they have tried to solve it? There are few companies which offer discounts and brands cheaper but, still expensive. C) Why haven’t the other solutions worked? 1. Travel Buddies Who has the problem? Travelers who want to travel somewhere but they do not have anyone to travel with. Maybe because their friends doesn’t have enough money, they are working or maybe because they don’t have the same travel interests and they want to tarvel somewhere else. How have they tried to solve it? There are a few webpages and a couple of apps that have tried to solve this problem, connecting travellers from all over the world in order to allow them to find someone to travel with when they have similar interests.
