    1. Travel Buddies
      • Who has the problem? Travelers who want to travel somewhere but they do not have anyone to travel with. Maybe because their friends doesn’t have enough money, they are working or maybe because they don’t have the same travel interests and they want to tarvel somewhere else. 
      • How have they tried to solve it? There are a few webpages and a couple of apps that have tried to solve this problem, connecting travellers from all over the world in order to allow them to find someone to travel with when they have similar interests. 
      • Why haven't these solutions worked? One of the webpages that exists is called “http://www.travel-buddies.com” which has tried to solve this problem, however, it is not clear enough and it is quite confusing. In my opinion, this website seems old, and it needs a lot of changes in order to be truly effective for users. And quite the same happens with the other webpages or apps. 

    2. Travel Planning
      • Who has the problem? Those who want to plan a trip with detailed information, and also those who want to plan it with the collaboration of their travel mates. 

      • How have they tried to solve it? As far as I know, it does not exist a webpage or app which solves  specifically this problem. The only thing that I could use when planning my roadtrip was Google Maps, but it was only useful to plan the route, but not the accommodation, or other activities which require detailed information.

      • Why haven't these solutions worked? As I said, as far as I know a specific solution for this problem does not exist. So a solution starting from zero would be required in this case. 

    3. Luggage Lost
      • Who has the problem? Those travelers who have to take a plane and check their bags and are afraid to lose them.
      • How have they tried to solve it?  There exists a simple luggage tracker known as TRACE ME, which integrates an airline baggage system to identify your bag even if you lose your luggage tags. There exists also some smart luggage tags with microchips embedded in them, like the ReboundTag or the Bag2Go. This last system actually embeds a satellite tracker in your case and communicates with an app in your smartphone so you’ll always know exactly where your precious is hiding.
      • Why haven't these solutions worked? Before doing the research I didn't know about these systems, so I think that the problem is that they are still in an "initial phase" and haven't reach the actual market of potential customers.

    Here there is a list of some of the ideas that during the Start Lab workshop a group of engineers suggested to us. The most promising ones based on the following criteria are number 2, 3 and 4. Solution 2: Clever test to know exactly which present is best for the client.  It would solve one of the biggest problems that our business idea has, which is to know exactly what the indented client likes. Because people like to surprise their loved ones with unexpected gifts, but at the same time, with gifts that they will like and use in the future, because in the end, that's the point of giving a gift to someone. So the idea of implementing a smart personality test to discover the real tastes of the intended client is a great idea, however, it is not very innovative.  Solution 3: Scan social media profiles to identify the taste of the client.  It is a very innovative idea because it is aligned with some of the current social trends.
